We installed a rain barrel diverter system on this home in Stouffville. A typical installation includes a rain barrel connected to a 3” x 3” downpipe with a diverter attached to it. The diverter has a lever on it which you can switch from summer to winter. When you remove the barrel in the wintertime, the downpipe still follows the wall all the way to the ground, to make sure the water is as far away from your foundation as possible.
