I was truly amazed when this customer in North York called me. She told me their gutters were clogging, even though she had an alu-rex leaf guard system installed, and that they also had some heating cables installed as well. So I went to their home and to my amazement I found what you see in the picture below.Never, ever, cut holes in your Alu-Rex leaf guard system![/caption] Now, the Alu-Rex leaf guard system is probably the best in the industry. We use it exclusively. But you must remember one thing: not all authorized dealers are professionals! Here is the proof. These guys installed the screen system, but then cut holes to put the heating cables in it. I had never seen this! How was this going to keep leaves and debris out of the gutters? Another thing to keep in mind: heating cables are only a band-aid solution. They will help, but you must follow through and find out where the real problem is.
